It Was a Thrill, part II

We're happy to announce that LIONS, our debut novel and an awesome thrill ride, is set to be released September 15th. Check out the details about the book and author Aleksandr Jackson here.

"If the world were perfect, it wouldn't be." So said the one and only Yogi Berra, who was born on this day in 1925. We thought this was a fitting thought for the day, as it would have been perfect to receive hundreds and hundreds of entries for our recent Bumblebee Jack coloring contest. Or ten. Or just one. Swing, and a miss!

Moving right along, our focus turns now to our new adult fiction imprint, Iron Icon Books, and its introductory story. We can't wait to get this novel into your hands in September, so keep an eye out. In the meantime, take time to wish Yogi well, because nothing says Happy Birthday like Happy Mother's Day. Or something like that.

Coloring Contest Extension

It seems that between vacation, filing taxes, school, taxes, soccer practice, taxes, Little League and taxes, this time of year turns out to be pretty busy. Well, we're going through the same thing, so today we're happy to announce that the coloring contest deadline is extended to April 30th. Any entry postmarked by that date will be eagerly awaited. We look forward to seeing the colorful creations that are sure to leap off the page!

It Was a Thrill

The dust has settled since our last post, and we’re happy to report that staff turnover remains low. The team is hard at work getting The Great Big School Yard Good-bye Waving Game ready for print while our electronic elves are busy readying Daddy Is That the Best You Got? for the ebook world.

We don’t just do Children’s Books, though. The Iron Icon imprint will feature hard-hitting, mind-bending, soul-searching fiction. We know that there are plenty of thrillers out there, where the narrator pulls you by the shirt, hurtling you from one scene to the next, watching fist fights, stepping over dead bodies and taking cover from gunfire. Many are free from the complications of meaningful dialogue or a plot. Some step up the intrigue by throwing in missile launchers, hand-offs at the train station in Vienna, “drops”, desert hideouts and ostentatious wealth. We love reading all of them. For who can deny the pleasure of reading about the demise of any terrorist/dirt bag/slime bucket/bad guy?

But.

On Deck

It's been a busy few weeks. After a strong lead-off effort by Daddy Is That The Best You Got?, the Unveiled Media team has been warming up to get The Great School Yard Good-bye Waving Game out of the on deck circle and into the batter's box (publication). Here at the office, the atmosphere is frantic:
